Linda Geldner is responsible for delivery of facilitation and partnering services to our clients. She also consults on business developement and strategic planning. Prior to joining The Geldner Group in 2009 Linda was responsible for implementing business strategies and services for the U.S. Navy’s Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest (NAVFAC SW) the equivalent of a $2 billion/year corporation. Geldner also served five years as Deputy Assistant Operations Officer for the NAVFAC SW where she was responsible for up to 200 employees and the execution of $400 million/year in Marine Corps and Navy facilities work.
Geldner (Verbanic) began her career in the San Francisco bay area with NAVFAC’s Western Division in 1979. She moved to San Diego in 1981 as the support architect for construction of the $300 million Balboa Naval Hospital. She subsequently worked as a construction manager for 5 years responsible for over $30 million in projects. In 1988 she transferred to NAVFAC’s newly formed Environmental Department where she managed over $200 million in environmental analysis, cleanup and remediation projects.
During the first round of BRAC (Base Relocation & Closure), Geldner was promoted to Base Closure Manager for the Naval Training Center San Diego. From 1993 – 1998, she successfully coordinated such diverse elements as local planning groups; city, state and federal officials; and special advocacy groups to make the disposal of NTC one of the smoothest in the country. Her efforts served as a model for other base closures around the country.
Geldner is a Registered Architect in the State of Nevada and a recipient of the Navy’s Meritorious Civilian Service Award. She serves on her local community’s planning committee and is active in several nonprofit organizations.
Tom Geldner / Agency Principal
Tom Geldner is responsible for delivering marketing, advertising, business development, graphic design and public relations services to our clients. Prior to founding The Geldner Group in 2007, Tom was director of marketing at the nonprofit California Center for Sustainable Energy where he helped obtain over $60 million in new funding through grants and successful program implementations. Previously, Geldner was president of XOR, LLC, an award winning marketing and web development firm.
Geldner has over 25 years experience in marketing, sales and product management including positions as director of corporate communications for Octus (computer technology), director of sales & marketing for I Dig (sporting goods), senior product manager for Office Automation Systems (laser printers), marketing services manager for Ektelon (sporting goods) and general partner/founder at Xpert Software (consumer software).
Tom has also consulted to a variety of companies including Independent Energy Solutions, Pacific Bell, Browning, MSR, Olympian Sports, Allsop and Pier 1. Some of his successes include handling all corporate communications for an $18 million IPO, engineering a 25% sales increase for a national sporting goods company in one year, and designing and marketing a new sports product which generated almost $5 million in sales in its first two years.
